Fieldmark WaterforArdent Orchards

Every tree gets the water it asks for.

A smart irrigation proposal for Ardent Orchards' valley blocks, from Fieldmark Water.

Fieldmark Water for Ardent Orchards. Proposal issued October 2026.A Closewell Studio example. Companies and figures are fictional.

You're farming 9,400 acres on less water than last year.

Three lines from your September brief, and what we read in each.

01
The district cut our allocation 18 percent for 2027.Elena, Owner and CEO

Your calendar schedule needs 38,540 acre-feet a season. The district will deliver about 31,600. That gap is the whole problem, so we built this proposal around closing it.

02
We water by the calendar because nobody can see the root zone.Cody, Farm Manager

The trees have been telling you what they need all along. Probes at three depths in every block let your crews hear it, and the valves answer on their own.

03
Last July's heat week cost us the Bench pistachios.Elena, Owner and CEO

That's the fear under every other question. So the map below has a dry week built in. Run it once on the calendar and once on sensors and watch which blocks go amber.

Switch on a block. Run the season.

Tap any block to put sensors in it, then drag from March to harvest. Blue is water the calendar pours past the roots. Amber is a tree running short.

Three readings per probe, every fifteen minutes.

What the tree tells us at each depth, and what the valve does about it.

drip line 8 in20 in36 in probe
The root zone

Most of the feeder roots live here. When this reading drops toward the block's set point, the valve opens for exactly as long as it takes to bring it back, and no longer.

One probe every ten acres.

On a 400 acre block that's 40 probes, close enough to catch a sandy streak inside a loam block. It's what gets Ardent to 31 percent.

Soil probes 940 at three depths

Capacitance probes reading volumetric water at 8, 20 and 36 inches, plus soil temperature. Pushed in by hand with a tube, so no trenching in the rows. Battery life is five seasons, and a crew swaps a battery in under four minutes.

Valves and flow meters 235 block valves

Every block valve gets an actuator and an inline meter. The valve opens on the probe's call, the meter logs the acre-feet that went through it, and a hand lever on every valve means your irrigators can always override.

Pump drives 12 stations

Variable-speed drives on the twelve older pump stations, so pumps slow down when fewer blocks are calling. That's where the power bill drops. The two Bench stations rebuilt in 2025 already have them.

Gateways and radio 9 gateways

A radio mesh across the ranch with nine solar gateways on existing poles. No cellular plan per device and no cable in the ground. If a gateway goes down, its neighbours carry the traffic.

The Fieldmark platform year one included

One view per block on a phone, a weekly water ledger for Martin and a district-ready report for Joanne. After year one it renews at $186,000 a year, and you can cancel any October.

Every valve live before bloom.

We install while the trees sleep and hand you a running system on February 15, 2027.

We finish every install by February 12 and stay off the blocks from hull split to the last shake unless Cody calls us.

Worst soils first.

North, River, Bench in that order, so the blocks with the worst sandy streaks run on sensors first.

The drill comes before July.

In early June we close a pump station for a day on purpose and watch the system reroute. You'll see it work before the heat does.

Every line priced, every line yours to drop.

The survey, the network and year one of the platform sit under every version. Change a line and the water figure moves with the dollars.

Agronomy service, optional

Two Fieldmark agronomists on the ranch from bloom to harvest, with a weekly block review alongside Cody.

We'd sign all three phases at one probe per ten acres, with every valve automated and drives on all twelve older pump stations. That's the version that gets to 31 percent in the first season, when the allocation cut bites hardest. Agronomy is worth adding in a year this short, and you can add it any time before bloom.

Four people sign this. Here's each answer.

One chapter per signer, each built so nobody needs a call to say yes.

Will the trees come through a short-water year?

EElena, Owner and CEO

Yes, and with water left over. The calendar runs past the allocation in August. Sensors on every block finish the season with 4,950 acre-feet still in the account, enough to cover a second heat week.

We put our own money under the number. If year one saves less than 25 percent, the final 10 percent of the fee stays with Ardent. We measure it together on October 29, from the meters, by block.

Is this one more thing my crews have to babysit?

CCody, Farm Manager

No. Valves open on the probe's call, so your irrigators stop driving set changes at 3 a.m. They get one screen per block and a hand lever on every valve that always wins.

Nothing to trench

Probes go in by hand with a tube. Radio carries the data, so the rows stay as they are.

Three days of training

One day for you, two for your irrigators, on your own blocks with live valves.

When does it pay for itself?

MMartin, CFO

In about 3.7 years for the version priced above. We count the water you'd otherwise buy at $270 an acre-foot, your blended cost last season, plus each pump drive's power saving, minus the platform fee from year two.

Can I prove every acre-foot to the district?

JJoanne, Water Rights and Compliance

Every block valve has a meter, and every meter writes to a read-only log every fifteen minutes. Your monthly district filing comes out of that log in the district's own format, signed off by you and nobody else.

This is the report you'd file for four weeks of July on the sensored plan. The figures come from the same model as the map above.

The price holds
The total above is fixed until December 15, 2026. Sign by November 13 and the soil survey starts on November 16.
You own everything in the ground
Every probe, valve, meter and drive belongs to Ardent from the day it's installed. So does every reading.
The guarantee
Under 25 percent saved in year one and the final 10 percent of the fee stays with you. Measured by block, from the meters, on October 29, 2027.
Warranty
Five years on hardware, parts and labour. A failed probe is replaced inside 72 hours in season.
After year one
The platform renews at $186,000 a year. Cancel any October and keep your data in a format your next system can read.
Who's on the ranch
Our crews enter a block only with Cody's crew lead's say-so, and never during shake.

What we don't know yet.

Three things the survey will settle, and how each one is priced.

1

The two Bench wells

We haven't logged them through a full pumping day. If drawdown is worse than your 2025 records, the Bench drives may need a larger frame. We'd price that before install and never after.

2

The district's 2027 report format

It isn't published yet. Whatever they publish, Joanne's report matches it at no cost to Ardent, before the first filing is due.

3

The R8 canal turnout

R8 shares a turnout with your neighbour to the east. We need to know who owns that meter before we wire it to your log, so nobody reports the same acre-foot twice.

Sign by November 13 and every block runs on sensors at bloom.
